ok i have thick pretty straight hair but i want to straighten it an i was wondering what are some good brands of straighteners .. and also is it okay to iron your hair rather then using a straightener.. like isnt it pretty much the same thing?
(i dont want to ruin my hair but with the iron it seems much faster)
Umm straightener help? suggestions?
the good brands are chi, conair, and paul mitchel. There will make your hair pin straight and they don't damage your hair. And yes it is totally ok to iron your hair with a regular iron. Just make sure you don't attempt to do it yourself, make sure that someone else will do it for you. Also, use a ironing board so you don't catch anything on fire.

ConAir is the best straightener, I prefer. But I would say don't go out and buy one. Your hair will get ruined, and it can burn off chops of your hair if your not careful. Just go to Sephora or some make-up, hair, beauty products store and buy Loreal Anti-Frizz Control add-ins or Kiwi Anti-Frizz Control add-ins. I prefer Kiwi, but Loreal is less money. Whatever you think is best for you, go ahead and do it. Hope I helped.

Andis are pretty good. You usually can get them at a Wal-Mart store. They have different sizes like 1 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch. I have thick hair and i like the 1 inch. oh yeah and it is a straghtener.

The only brand worth owning (and I say this most sincerely and from experience) are G.H.D.'s. (Good Hair Days)
You can only purchase them from salons or online from the GHD website.
My Daddy bought me them as a reward for doing so well on my Foundation Degree and since I have had them, I have never looked back!

I've been straightening my hair for a few years and have tried many different straightening irons. The one I use now is Solia, I got it off of folica.com very good for its price. The new thing with straightening irons is "tourmaline." This one is the best for its price plus the tourmaline. If you have the money, the top salons use "T3 Tourmaline wet-to-dry straightening iron" That one works extremely well, but in my opinion costs way too much. Also, my advice is to never use a plain ol' iron because you could fry your hair or your head worse than a straightening iron. Another last tip, don't use a styling product after blow-drying your hair right before straightening it. After awhile the iron will get brown stuff on it which is actually the styling product which has burned onto the plates. If that stays on there too long it will wear away at the ceramic coating on the iron, which will then do extreme damage to your hair. Good luck! :]
