What is the best straightener for...?

I have thick, curly hair that tends to get frizzy as well. I have a straightener, but it takes a very long time to do and even then it doesn't seem to work very well, my hair gets curly again a few hours later.

What would you recommend for the best straightener for my type of hair? Are there any wet-to-straight that work well for thicker hair? That would be preferred... but any suggestions are appreciated! I'm sick of spending over an hour trying to get it straight! :)

first off use redken smooth down shampoo %26amp; conditioner.

then applly a little smooth glide also by redken before blowdry .

when drying use a big paddle brush and straighten the hair as you are drying. then use a 'chi' flat iron they usually cost about

$ 120 or so but well worth the price it get a lot hotter and straightens the hair alot faster with less damage . once hair id done take a few drops of smooth glide and run throughhair with fingers to smooth away any frizzies. i agree this process takes quite a while but after done you can go about 2 days before washing again unless hair is real oily. second day just run flat iron over hair and youre done. days that are rainy , find away to wear your hair curly youre fighting a losing battle. i know proffesional products are more expensive but you can buy these shampoos etc. in bigger volumes like liters and sometime gallons if your hair care proffesional is nice and then you cut your cost to your regular on the grocery shelf products. remember be kind to your hair you wear it everday!!

Well..

Haha, my mom bought a Chi branded straightner, for around $130.

It's really hot, in like 6 seconds.

And it also comes with something you put in your hair, and then straighten to help keep it flat..

I know, cuz she straightened mine once.. xD

Soo, if money's not limited, I suggest the Chi.

the best approach is to get your hair permanently straight at the salon, but it costs a lot (the reason why i didn't do it anymore)...

i found that the type of hair straightener does play a big role in straightening your hair too, i use to be so frustrated with those flat iron i bought from walmart like conair, remington, etc... which are craps... then my hair stylist recommend the hot tools flat iron that he used on my hair so i bought that (for $60), pretty decent, not too expensive but and it is clearly different than all the other crappy flat irons i used before. the type of shampoo and styling products also play a role, i found my hair to behave the best and make my straightening session quicker and more pleasant when i use the Redken Smooth Down shampoo, conditioner, then apply the head glide before i run my flat iron on my hair... hope it helps...

My son has long, curly, frizzy hair that was impossible to tame. While he was in Japan, he had the Japanese thermal hair straightening done and loved the results. No more hours in the bathroom in the morning. It's straight and shiny with no frizz problems. He just had it touched up in NY city. The website there is www.hairclubib.com. It cost about $150 which is an excellent price for it over here. Once you have it done, it only needs touch-up every 6-8 months. Good luck!

Wet to dry are no good - specially if you have long hair. It will take forever. My friend uses Chi and loves it. You could always try Permanent Straightening.
