How do you get rid of static in your hair?

Most days, I get out of the shower and blow dry my hair. Then I use a straightener. And then afterwards, my hair has static! Everytime I touch it, it's staticy. Are there any tricks or quick fixes to get it to go away before I head out the door?

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

Scotch Guard

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

take a shower and use a different brush and touch something metal w/ static electricity

Rub it with an ice cube

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

I spray a little bit of hairspray (not aerisol) into my brush and give my hair one last quick onceover. Or you might try some smoothing milk while your hair is still wet.

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

use lots of conditioner and do not blow dry

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

Spray a hairbrush with hairspray and run it through your hair...don't spray hair directly. I've also heard beauticians say that taking a fabric softener sheet and rubbing it over a hairbrush or comb and then combing or brushing hair works well also.

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

There is a spray that you can buy that is for antistatic. Or, you can try giving your hair a mist with hairspray. The moisture from the hairspray will help in getting rid of the static. Good luck!

How do you get rid of static in your hair?

I use Dep hair gel. I rub a little bit on my hands and run them through my hair. Also, I duck into the bathroom throughout the day and wet my hair down. Hooray for Emily L's!!!!!!! (I am an Emily L, too.)

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Girls.... Hair driers, straighteners. curlers, etc.etc.etc.

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I have waist length hair and I wash it and leave it. Done all the styling nonsense when I was younger.

Strange, time was precious then and I wasted it with perms, curling etc.

Now time hangs before me I just "wash and go". My mum would have had something to say about that: "never go out with wet hair"!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

yep i have to straighten my hair or else i look like im living in the woods or somethin

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

every time i shower which roughly is every other day!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I use heat protection spray.

I don't use my straighteners everyday i use them every other day or just stick my hair up now so my hair get a break every once in a while...

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Used to be. Not any more though. I just put coconut oil in it and let it dry naturally.

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I do all of that daily I'm afraid!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I have very thick, coarse, wavy hair, so after showering I have to blowdry, flat iron, then use a large barrel curling iron to flip my ends under, because I have layers and that's the only way I can make my hair look good.

Not to mention the fact that I color my hair at least every two to three months, sometimes more often if I get bored.

Surprisingly though, my hair is in decent shape. I deep condition once or twice a week, I use conditioner every time I shampoo (every other day), and heat protection cream when I style. Plus regular trims.

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Every day when I shower

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

A couple of times a week, not that there's much to wash (cut very short not completely missing!)

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

i wash my hair each day when i have a shower

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

i only brush it and dont use anything on it ever!

i straighten it about once a month and wash it every day, its normally worn in a bun

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

i wash my hair once in 3 days or something.....i dont use any kind of hair driers, sraighteners, curlers n blah......and apply oil every time before washing....and brush it 3-4 times a day!!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Every time in rains.

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

every day as I only got 2 shower rooms in this house, one is kinda W/C only and kinda storage and the other is the one I use,but is very hard to have a wash and leave my head out of it.

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I always use heat protector,i try to air dry my hair . i deep condition it and moisturize it whenever needed!!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

I straighten my hair like nearly everyday, but i do use heat defence spray!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

with shampoo

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Hair straighteners...hardly ever use my hair dryer anymore cause i cant be bothered with it, also cause i tend to shower late at night when the rest of the house is asleep!

Girls are you mean to your hair? Guys How often do you wash your hair?

Yeh i straighten my hair every day and blow dry it.

I mean to my hair as well by washing it every day coz that takes the health out of it

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

That's right, I have a big forhead (and head for that matter) along with thick, curly hair. I have a pro straightener so I have the option of straightening it once and a while.

Now: my hair is always pulled (which excentuates my forehead even more) in a messy pony or bun.

Any ideas as to how I should cut my hair? Keeping in mind my forehead?

I really appreciate any advice thank you. :)

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

i would get bangs to cover most of your forehead.

and then straighten your bangs so they arent poofy.

but leave the rest curly.

that would look SOO totally cute :D :D

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Part it to the side and sweep from the part downward across the forehead and back into a pony or bun. You can also wear it down that way. The swept hair will help to minimize your forehead. And the curly hair, just live with it because people are usually jealous. At least that's what I was always told about my curly hair! :o) Also, become friends with bobby pins (to keep your sweep in place).

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Ohh I'm with you girlie. I have the SAME problem. My head and forehead are quite large too. You can get side swept bangs which cover approx. half your forehead and if you like to put your hair in a pony or bun, it's perfect because it still covers your forehead.

Here's some pictures of what I'm talking about -

http://teamsugar.com/files/images/File04...

http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/0/T/G/Lind...

I have side bangs and they are awesome! (not to mention if your into what's "in," side bangs are in)

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I would keep it long myself and maybe layer it the length takes away from your forehead. If you don't have bangs let your hairdresser have a field day they love to create them this will also cover some of your forehead.

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I would recomend something loose and natural, sholder length maybe, letting some shorter curls hang over your forehead. defenately embrace your natural texture though, trying to tame it is just a hassle when you can use it to your advantage! good luck!

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I don't know why curlies are so quick to straighten their hair. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Embrace it, it's a part of who you are. NEways...bangs in front work for my best friend. Or twists all over your head.(They will hang in front and are a hairstyle that doesn't require straightening:)

I would suggest going to motowngirl.com for other hairstyle how to's.

And embrace that BIG forehead too!

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Get sideswept bangs and even if you tie your curly hair up, make sure you do your bangs (either straighten or blow dry them).

When I used to have bangs, I would straighten them and put mousse in the rest of my hair and leave it down. It would look really cute. I have a big forehead too and a round face so the angular bangs made my face look squarer.

What else you could do is sprinkle some fine highlights in your bangs too. That would look nice and summery.

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Well, exactly what does your curls look like?

If you have a large forehead, I'd get bangs that I would straighten everyday.

If you have small neat curls, keep it a little longer than shoulder length, it will frame your large head (:-P)

If you have large messy curls, keep it long, don't thin it out too much if you choose to thin it out, and if you layer it, layer it all around and not just to frame your face. It will be easier to maintain that way.

I hope I've helped.

OH! and if you're really into making a large leap, add some highlights to ascentuate your new look! =D

Just don't do anything drastic! Think it out! I know it's just hair, and it will grow out or it will be redyeable but don't forget what damage it does to your hair!

Straighting my hair?

ok im a guy i have very curly thin hair i have bought a straightener. i have tried straighting but i can only get the front straight... how in the world do you do this? do i need any thing else? bluh im sick of my hair please help me...

btw i have had my hair straightened before it was at this job exspo thingy i got forced into it by the girls in my classe and they said it looked really really good....

Straighting my hair?

It is rather difficult to get that back straightened, if you ask me. I have problems with it as well. If you need help try getting a friend or relative to help you the first few times until you get the hang of it. If it's because it's just not straightening ttry letting it get a bit hotter before straightening. Hope that helps!

Straighting my hair?

Buy a at home chemical straightener. The ones w/ African Americans on the front. Then use a serum in you hair every morning before blow drying with a boar bristle brush.

Go to a beauty supply store, not the grocery store.

Straighting my hair?

First off, buy a straightening enhancing shampoo. Next make sure you condition. Use a wet to dry straighter for optimal results but also, make sure you straighten the back many more times than the front because the back tends to curl more. if not i recommend either blow drying it out or having it chemically straighted.

Straighting my hair?

Try working with the curls first, then if it fails, do your straigtening. HIS MIX leave-in works well. You apply it to wet hair and go (no towel or blow). I will put a link below to the owners of HIS MIX on radio.

Infra-red Straightener?

Does anyone own an INFRA-RED STRAIGHTENER? If you do, does it damage your hair because according to websites it doesn't but then again many websites say normal straighteners do not damage your hair. Anyways, let me know what you think of ifra-red straighteners - do they damage your hair? Do they give better results than normal straighteners?

Infra-red Straightener?

Hair straighteners damage your hair, if you use a heat activated shampoo conditioner and spray it won't.

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks to avoid damage.

My hair is thin, fine and breaking off, HELP? how do i get my hair STRONGER?

Ok my hair is very long to my waist and it's breaking off bad. I already have soft hair and it's very fine, what can i go to get it stronger and stop from breaking off? I don't use no heat to my hair (hairdryer/curling tong/straighteners etc) I use deep conditioning but still my hair breaks off, oh and my hair is straight. Any Ideas anyone?

My hair is thin, fine and breaking off, HELP? how do i get my hair STRONGER?

Stop 'deep conditioning' your hair! What you are doing to make your hair stronger, could actually be 'weakening it' and causing it to break. If you want 'stronger hair' that is 'smooth and shiny' try using plain (not extra virgin) olive oil from your grocery store ... warm it, brush it into your hair, then 'wrap' the hair around your head, and wrap it in a terry towel and 'sit in the sun' (use a good sunscreen on your skin, of course) for an hour or two. Take it down, wash (with hair as long as yours, it may take four washings, and four 'thorough' rinsings) and brush.

Also, you may want to have a 'thyroid test' done by your doctor. Hair 'breaking off' ... and especially 'thin and fine hair' ... can be a 'symptom' of hypothyroidism. If you have a thyroid problem, you will be put on thryoid supplements (or suppressants, if you are hyperthyroid) for LIFE ... but your hair will 'stop breaking' as soon as your thyroid levels are normal.

Go ahead and do the 'olive oil treatment' first ... and if you give yourself an 'olive oil hair treatment' once a month, your hair should be smooth, glossy, supple, and GORGEOUS within three or four months.

My hair is thin, fine and breaking off, HELP? how do i get my hair STRONGER?

My hair is thin, fine and breaking off, HELP? how do i get my hair STRONGER?

I NEED TIPS ON HOW TO DO mY HAIR.........IT'S THICK AND NOT EASILY STYLED?

Hot oil treatments help, along with a deep leave-in conditioner. Next time you blowdry, use a big round barreled brush and a blowdryer with a nozzle and that should work.

Straighten or hair salon?

look i want my hair like zac efron's

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

first of all, my hair is wavy. My hair is puffy from the sides, and long at the back. My hair is long from the front, but not as long as zac's. So here's the question, should i go to a hair stylist with that pic and have them style my hair and recommend some straighteners(creasms) or should i leave my hair and let it grow more and just use straightening balm, without going to the salon

Straighten or hair salon?

let it grow some, then go there and ask them to cut it and explain how they can style it.

Straighten or hair salon?

starighten

Straighten or hair salon?

I don't trust salons - they don't ever do what you ask. OR, when they do, you can never get it the same as they styled it the day they cut it!

.

Straighten or hair salon?

Hair Stylist

Straighten or hair salon?

Make it longer and then go to the Hair Salon and tell the salonlist I want hair like Zac Efron. Here is the picture of Zac Efron Hair.

Straighten or hair salon?

I DO THIS TO MY HAIR IT MAKES IT SUPER SMOOTH

MY HAIR GETS PUFFY AND WAY LIKE YOURS, SO THIS IS WHAT I DO TO FIX IT:

go to wal mart and you can by "GARNIER FRUCTiS SLEEK%26amp;SHINE ANTI-FRIZZ SERUM" (it comes in a green round ball with a soup-like dispenser)

after you wash hair with the oh so silkening "Dove moisturinging shampoo and conditiner, towel dry hair is its still damp. rub a SMALL amount (size of a quarter) onto palms then into hair. then let it airdry until its FULLY dried.

after that you can straighten hair with a straighten iron by itself with no chemicals and it will come out AWESOME! then style it like zacs.

good luck :)

Straighten or hair salon?

Whats the best kind of straightener?

I need a new straightener my hair is really wavy and the straightener i have now doesnt straighten too well and my hair quickly becomes wavy again so help please

Whats the best kind of straightener?

get one at a beuty supply store thats ceramic and that can go past 300 degrees and it should get your hair straight

Whats the best kind of straightener?

CHI! They are around $140 dollars though but well worth it. They come with a lifetime guarentee and my hairdresser recomended it.

Whats the best kind of straightener?

my cousins hair is really really really curly.

the straightener i use on her hair i bought at walmart for $26

its called Wet 2 Straight.

it works really well and it skips a step to where you dont have to dry your hair before you can straighten it.

Whats the best kind of straightener?

chee iron

Whats the best kind of straightener?

you can get a CHI or a Sedu flat iron. go to www.folica.com for reviews of both. You can also try out the Solia, it's slightly cheaper than both.

Whats the best kind of straightener?

chi

it works really well

How good are wet to dry straighteners for your hair?

I dunno if I should buy one or not..

How good are wet to dry straighteners for your hair?

don't straighten your hair while wet.. it damages it. put a good heat treatment on then dry it straighten then cool air dry it.

How good are wet to dry straighteners for your hair?

The worst thing you could possibly do to your hair except for dying it daily. It fries your hair and it gives you terrible split ends. Blow dry it before straightening your hair.

How good are wet to dry straighteners for your hair?

even straightening your hair dry is damaging.

i wouldn't recommend it.

if you want to straighten your hair at all, do it dry, never wet. try to get a straightener with ceramic plates; they'll do the least amount of damage by sealing the hair cuticle while the plates go over the hair.

hope this helps! good luck!

I have smooth/thin hair but sometimes I find a random wiry hair, what is this? What causes this?

Could this be a result of using hair dryers/straighteners? (I rarely ever use these items though...)

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

I use garnier fructis hairspray

How to straighten short hair for men and what straighteners are good?

Chi straighteners are EXCELLENT!

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

I Have about twenty dollars to spend on a straightener that will straightener my hair somewhat quick and maybe hold it straight well. My hair is naturally pretty straight so it doesnt have to be that fancy, and also my hair is thin so it can be thin? I just went through a bedhead light me up straightener that I liked very much but it cost sixty dollars so I cant afford another one.

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

The wet to straight u can get it from 15 to 25 so bring 25 to be prepared you can get it at wal mart for cheap and they come in three different sizes small medium and large so you can pick they go up to level 30 and thats pretty hot.

hope i helped

Hapy New Year!

LeighAnn

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

Remmington wet2straight. $50 at target, best on the market, I swear by it!!

Kitty%26lt;3

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

save up a hundred more dollars and buy a sebastian hair straightner or save up 200 more dollars an buy a chi...or the best thing dont straighten your hair

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

If your hair is coarse %26amp; curly then go to an ethnic beauty supplier store as the straightener's there have a higher temperature which is what is needed with the coarse/curly hair. If your hair is typically straight you just want to smooth it out then go to walmart, target, etc and purchase any of the ones there - typically any brand will work.

Does anyone know of an effectitve yet cheap ceramic straightener?

The first thing you need to do is make sure that the straightener has ceramic plates as this evens out heat and makes less damage to your hair.

I use wet to straight by Remington

1. IT HAS CERAMIC PLATES!

2. It heats up quickly

3. It is not too bid so you can reach more difficult points (above the ear + bangs).

But there are also other good brands you can choose from.

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

I'm too lazy to dye my hair or anything, so I was just wondering if anyone knew how to make hair shiny. I have really really dark brown opaque hair (no shine), thats really long, and naturally curly, but I straighten it usually (with a hair dryer, no longer a straightener cuz of the damage.) I use John Frieda Frizz-ease both shampoo and conditioner and use the color glaze for brunettes everytime I shower. It's gotten a little better, but I'm thinking its just cuz I just got a haircut last month. My hair is somewhat damaged, but to a normal extent. Anyone have a product that worked for them? (and that was somewhat affordable)

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

use some nice conditioner. sunsilk is good. good luck!!!

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

the key to shine is moisture. so get a deep conditioner and use it once a week, like neutregena hair masque. then use a shine serum like citre shine. also try a clarifying shampoo to remove any build up that my be dulling your hair. top off your style with a shine spray like kenra platinum spray, it works really well.

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

try Marc anthony moisture gloss shampoo and conditioner.(dont use it, but i tried it lol) Also, blowdrying iss worse than straightening. You're better olff washing your hair at night and straightening t in the morning.

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

ther is a line of shampoos and conditioners that emphasise colours .... they r kindfa expensive buh the work amazing....i think they are by pantene ...they are called names like brilliant brunette, brilliant blonde ect... just get the right one and ur set....straifhtening it occasionally on lower heat settings will also make it shiner

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

try Burts Bees Super Shiny its amazing!!((get both the shampoo %26amp;%26amp; conditioner))

Product to make opaque hair shiny?

I use Pantene's Brunette Expressions when I feel that my hair colour needs a kick whether its been dyed or not. What I like about the shampoo and conditioner is that will use subtle tones to shake it back into shine. If I'm feeling extravagant though, I will use John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette over Pantene although it can be expensive depending on where its bought from. Use a pea sized amount of a shine serum on your hair when its wet or dry to help it along.

Strait Hair.. Guys??

Im a 13 year old boy, and my hair is curly.. like most of the boys at my school, but i would like to either spike it, or have it emo style which i cant with curly hair. Is straighteners to girly? Is their something else i could do so they would "straighten up"? A special shampoo?? WHat?

p.s.%26gt; My hair is pretty thick

Strait Hair.. Guys??

I think curly hair is cool, dont straighten it then people will know that you are doing something different with your hair. Make yourself happy and dont worry about what others think of you.

Strait Hair.. Guys??

Hi Jary,

I know what you mean and how you feel. We are stereotyped alot today about things being 'only' for girls and things 'only' for boys and if you use things for the opposite sex your 'gay'. RUBBISH!! Hair is hair whether its a girls hair or boys hair is neither hear nor there.

If you want to have straiter hair that is completely fine to do. A shampoo to make hair straiter would also be a good idea to loosen tight curls and relax the hair. Sunsilk make one of these, its the purple one i think. Just dont straiten too much it can thin out your hair by the heat and damage it. Dont care what no-one says if they make a comment nastly its only because they envy your lovely hair!

Good Luck x

Strait Hair.. Guys??

alot of my guy freinds staighten their hair.

use herbal essences smapoo and conditoner for STARIGHT HAIR. then straighten it. its what my guys do.

Strait Hair.. Guys??

Ya, use the straightener.

Strait Hair.. Guys??

Yep, its totally easy to do.

First of all, you prolly want to get your hair thinned out at a salon. This will make your hair less thick and stuff.

You can easily get a cheap straightener at Target or even Wal-Mart, but I recommend a Chi.

Straightening is pretty easy once you get the hang of it!

Strait Hair.. Guys??

Once you do some thing like straighten your hair, you have do re-do it every week or so and that is very expensive. Spend the money on something to do, to attract girls, like a scooter, bike, extreme sports stuff. etc.

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair pr

What about reducing the volume/puffiness of hair WITHOUT cutting, straightening, or using hair products?

--Are there any shampoos or conditioners that will work for BOTH problems??

Note: I mean "hair products" as in hair sprays, straighteners, and home remedies.

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

Leave in a bit of conditioner %26amp; don't comb/brush yer hair.

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm

u cant

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

Try Sunsilk de-frizz...... It worked for me. Also do NOT use soft bristled brushes and don't over brush your hair.

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

That is what hair products are for... Why do it without when products work so well?

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

Pantene Smooth and Shiny works well as far as shampoo and conditioner. Also, when you blow it straight use a natural boars hair bristle brush... it will actually help bring your natural oils down to the ends of the hair giving you smooth and shiny with no products. If you need to use a product, biosilk is my favorite, as well as Pantene shine enhancer (use both before you dry your hair and SPARINGLY, a little goes a long way). Hope this helps!!

How do you prevent frizzy hair without putting any food products in your hair AND/OR use any hair products?

take showers at night and do not blowdry your hair, also just come yur hair a tad bit and not to much but this is optional, and wait till yur hair is dry till u sleep. when u r sleeping keep ur hair open and try to kinda keep yur hair under yur back so it flatens do that for like a minute or just like sleep on yur back and keep yur hair under u, or just keep yur hair open, in the morning come it a tad bit and part yur hair and u have non frizzie hair. i also recomend not using the new garnier fructis flyaway formula but the daily care shampoo and conditionar. hope i've helped cause these things help me. :)

Straightener fade color?

does a straightener fade hair color/highlights if i got blonde highlights in my hair a week ago?

Straightener fade color?

yes

Straightener fade color?

Nope, not if your colour is blonde...yes, if you had brown, red, or another dark colour put in. And I'd probably wait another week at least to do the straightening...bleaching your hair and then straightening it right away may cause drying and breakage of your hair.

Straightener fade color?

It can make it appear to be more of a dull shade, maybe fade.

Straightener fade color?

yes

Straightener fade color?

If you are talking about getting a chemical relaxer, it wont fade it but if a toner was applied after bleaching, it will strip it (in other words it will be the color blonde it was before it was toned), if no toner was applied it will lighten it up the blonde more.

Straightener fade color?

When I use my straighteners it actually makes the colour more obvious ams shiny - people are always asking me if i have dyed it when I havn't done it for about 6 months!

Straighter hair?

i would like straighter hair and im wondering if you think this hair dryer would work.

i dont want to spend a lot of money on a dryer... do you think this will straighten my hair. I already have a straightener... i just want extra help on getting the perfect straight hair.

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=...

so will this blow dryer work?

Straighter hair?

Yeah, it will help you, but for sure use a flatiron for finishing touches, the iron gives you a sleek finish =D

Straighter hair?

okay sorry but I have one like that and if it's got those kind of attachments it WILL NOT work even if your hair is naturally straight, curly, or wavy those don't work they will leave your hair with a big sixties look like this!

http://www.chickenshop.co.uk/acatalog/wi...

I recommend just using a straightener

Straighter hair?

you don't need a certain dryer if you have a straightener. Just get some good products for your hair as well.

If you don't mind paying for something from a salon, get something like "After Party" from Bed Head or Recovery Complex Anti Frizz from Bain de Terre. If you don't want to pay for salon, use Sleek and Shine Style from Garnier. They all work well.

Straighter hair?

If you want polka straight hair you will need to use straightening irons..but a good one..ie.GHD...they are clearly the best on the market. Blow drying will be painfully time consuming if you are used to straightening, also you will have to do it on a daily basis :o( You could go for a chemical straightening treatment...this would be a pretty drastic move and also pricey.Hope this helps..get some ase straighteners..that's my main advise...Good luck.

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

I have destroyed my hair with colourings and straightening!

It feels and looks like straw! It's wiry and horrid!

This morning for the first time I tried a bottle dye. A L'oreal one! Unfortunately it came out ginger! So I went to my fella's hairsressers who sorted it out and dyedit back brown and then put some blonde highlights in which is the look i initally wanted! But my hair is now a mess! I need to know some good shampoo's and conditioners and I need to know some good products for protecting my hair from straighteners! My hair is desperately in need of repair! Help! xx

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

Don't have your hair lightened anymore - the peroxide will strip it out. Instead, just keep dark as it puts condition back in. Use a good shampoo and conditioner (Kerestase is a good one) especially for coloured hair. Not sure what straighteners you use but GHD's do not dry out the hair whilst some cheaper versions do so make the switch. Maybe your boyfriend can get a discount.

Also, put a protected spray on your hair specifically for using straighteners although, with GHD's you won't need to!

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

hi, i find the best shampoo n conditioner is loreal nutri gloss if u shampoo then put on conditioer n leave it for a few minutes it makes it really soft. and i would try tresemme heat protect if you use straightners alot.

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

ok nighttime treatments will become your best friend

mayonaise (it sounds grosse but it works)

try a scalp conditioner

look for african-american hair care products they have extra strength moistures

panteene prov time renewal productes especialy the mask

dont wash your hair every day till it heals

hope i helped

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

Oil massage you hair. Good shampoo and conditioner. Stop overdoing it now, atleast for six months. Let them grow natural now, otherwise you might start loosing your hair. Be cautious. Good Luck.

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

once its broke it cant be fixed . get a good haircut .dont use any home colours on it for at least 3 months- any more color on the ends even accidently would be bad news . vo5 do some great products for helping to straighten hair a lotion which makes your hair soft when rough drying and a spray to protect and help straighten . you need a moisturising conditioner to make your hair feel softer not a strengthening one which can make your hair more brittle .

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

Paul Mitchell makes a great conditioner that will help your hair. Its called "Strong"

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

whatever you do, lay off the straighteners for a while, its worth it! concentrate on blow drying it and just straighten for special occasions etc. i use mark hill products, ghd intense conditioner, and TIGI general shampoo and conditioner. leave the conditioner in as long as poss before washing it off.

My hair is a disaster at the moment! I need help and advice!?

you could try an intensive conditioner..leave it on for like 15 minutes every time you wash your hair until it gets to a better condition..Umberto Giannini is good. hope this helps :)

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

So basically I want to straighten my hair. I have a cheap straightener... it is a kind that has changeable heads, you have a curling iron head, a straightener head, etc. (I'm getting a good one for Christmas though) It never gets quite straight enough!! I have pretty straight hair to begin with, but it naturally flips away from my face at the ends. I like the ramrod-straight look (emo I guess you could say) and my hair never gets that straight no matter how long I straighten it. In fact, sometimes it seems like the more I try to straighten the flippy ends the more they flip and kind of bunch together if that makes any sense. I've tried a straightening "mist" by John Frieda and a cream leave-in conditioner/milk specifically for straightening but that just made my hair feel greasy and tangly, and it still wasn't straight. Any suggestions?

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

The problem is probably your straightener. Since you're getting a better one for christmas that should help. Also make sure you aren't going over the hair too quickly; it should take about 4-10 seconds depending on your hair length. Just make sure that you don't take too long and linger in one spot because that will cause more damage to the hair. It just takes practice :)

And also, for christmas I'd recommend the Sedu. That's what I'm getting after having made the mistake of buying a Maxi-glide. I've done a lot of research and Sedu is supposed to be the best. I heard a lot of people got a CHI only to have it stop working after a few months and other problems. So go with the Sedu; it's expensive but it'll make all the difference :)

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

get a chi there top of the line...$$$-but so worth it.

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

wait until christmas...less than 2 weeks.

I have the same problem, but im not getting a good one for christmas. Get the chi, it's supposed to be the best.

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

well my hair has really defined layers and its hard to stritan it yet i use a product called dangerously straight by erbal essecenses (s.p.) but and the truth is that it might just be the straitener that you use

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

It seems as though your having problems because of your current straightner you have, trust me- I used to have a cheapo straightner and It took me forever to get it properly straightned. Once you get a good straightner for christmas it`ll probably be way easier- you`ll definitely see a difference. In the mean time, section off your hair.. and straighten small pieces of hair at a time- don`t take a big thick chunk of hair because it`ll be even harder to straighten if you don`t have a good flat iron. Use a straightning spray.. lightly mist it and it shouldn`t look greasy or anything. Hope I`ve helped xx

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

Blow wave it straight and then go over it with the irons

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

Get yourself a Chi flatiron, expensive but will last you years and makes straightening hair super easy and quick. Use Kerastase oleo relax product, it's liquid gold. Again, this is pricey but it will work. If you can't spend that much, go with L'oreal products since they are part of the same company that makes Kerastase.

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

i think your best move is to wear your hair natural (cause it sound freakin gorgeous!!) then once christmas comes, straighten it then

I'm having trouble straightening my hair...?

may be you need some dead ends cut off then try some different kind of hair products. wait to see with your new straighteners

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

My first question is if you protect your hair enough then straightening your hair almost everyday wont damage it to the degree that it'll fall out easily right? I mean, i don't care if my hair isn't in superb condition becasue it never has been, but i absolutly love the style i have with straight hair and don't want to stop it. But i'm also scared of my hair getting in the condition someone i knows is (they just pulled at it and a chunk came out).

So to sum it up my question is if you protect your hair enough, will it stay at a semi-healthy condition?

Also how important are these thermal products that protect your hair? Would it be possible to get away with just conditioning your hair alot and using straighteners not at full temperature? Or are these products that protect hair from straighteners a requirement if you want to keep your hair from reaching an awful quality?

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

Okay sooo....

Keep your straightener at a very low heat. In fact, the lowest it can get while still straightening your hair.

I have a cheap straightener but it stays at a low enough heat that i dont have to worry about frying my hair.

Conditioning your hair will not help to keep your hair healthy

it just prevents frizz. I would suggest diluting your shampoo and conditioner by mixing in water so that its not so harmful because technically you are only supposed to washa and condition every other day.

Good luck

Hope I helped!;)

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

dat person u talked bout prob had extensions lol

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

I use therasilk, they really work. ALso, just remember to use conditioner every time you wash your hair, I hope everything works out for you.

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

If you use hot irons everyday make sure you use a good conditioner. At night run some Biolage condition balm threw you hair and wrap it up in a towel or plastic wrap. Shampoo and style in the morning. You can get the product in most salons.

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

Honestly, I straighten my hair every other day with a CHI- which is a professional flat iron (which gets REALLY REALLY HOT) and I was told by my stylist that you should use some kind of thermal product or serum while your hair is 75% - 80% dry to avoid overheating it, especially in my case since I have blond hi-lites. Some of these products are hardly that expensive and you need to use very little (depending on your hair length and type) or your hair will look oily. Some products I enjoy: Avon Straightening Balm or Fructis Sleek and Shine or Bio Silk (most expensive) but large bottle will last like forever. Good Luck with your choice.

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

My God your the way you word things made my head hurt

Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

I don't know, I think it might just be the hair type and condition that I have, but even if I use a thermal protector and whatnot, my hair still does get lot of damage from using a flat iron. I know a lot of people who can straighten their hair every day without product and never get a split end and their hair won't thin, and I know others who basically have no hair because of their flat iron addiction. I use top of the line, strictly salon quality shampoo and conditioner, I've tried every product from Pink Lotion to Biosilk and back, but I've given up and just accepted the fact that my hair is just not cooperative with flat irons! So just try out different products I guess, and see if anything works for you. Good luck!

CHI Straightener Question!??

want to straightener my hair but it's wet and it will be probably for another 6 hours since it's sooo thick! I don't want to wait until the morning to straighten my hair b.c. i would have to get up at 6:00am (takes a bit over an hour to do all my hair since it's so long and thick). Is it OK to straighten my hair with my CHI when my hair is wet???

Thanks!

CHI Straightener Question!??

no - you will actually end up cooking your hair -- invest in a blow dryer

CHI Straightener Question!??

NO- CUZ THEN U WILL END UP FRYING UR HAIR...JUST A BLOW DRYER AT TARGET OR SOMETHING!!! TRUST ME IVE HAD EXPERIENCE

CHI Straightener Question!??

yes go a head and use a CHI )crapy) iron on your hair and and FALR IRON IT while it's wet thats the best to do when you have a chi and wet you hair is wet

CHI Straightener Question!??

NOOOO

don't do it unless you want to kill your hair

and it'll damage the iron

blow dry it or something

or take a shower at night

CHI Straightener Question!??

Like the other girl said, it will literally fry your hair. The water will boil and turn to steam, also removing any natural moisture from your hair. Blot your hair with towels to remove as much as the water as you can, then blow dry (buy a blow dryer if you dont have one already, only like $15-20) on the LOWEST setting to prevent frizz.

Sometimes when i straighten my hair with my CHI and its all warmed up and everything (red light flashing) when i put it on my hair, the hair cools it down so much (even when its dry) that the red light will become solid, meaning that its not hot enough (because i cooled it down). So using it with wet hair will probably take a REALLY long time because you'll have to keep waiting for it to heat back up. It could also break your CHI. You should probably wait up at 6 (i do it every day anyways!) then waste the $200 that your CHI costed.

CHI Straightener Question!??

Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed.

Chi is being recalled now due to fire hazards. see:

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtm...

Yes, CHI sucks!

CHI Straightener Question!??

No, thats basically steaming your hair, and it will do massive amounts of damage to it.

Im not sure how safe they are for youre hair, but maybe try the Wet to Dry CHI?

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

Which straighteners are the ones that cause the least damage to your hair? I know all straighteners do, but I just want to know any makes/models that cause minimal heat damage but are still good,

Thanks

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

I think the best way to get a straightener it to go to a salon because they will have the best kind for your hair. The more you spend the less they will damage your hair.

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

conair is good, you want a ceramic one and NOT METAL. also, one with a small comb attached to the side helps a lot.

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

babybliss products are the best w/ceramic so it heats up fast and stays hot... it goes up to 230 degrees and all you have to do is run it through dry hair (with maybe some mousse in it) for a second and its beautiful!

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

A ceramic iron. The most important thing is to make sure your hair is completely dry before you use the iron. It would be best to wait a while after you blowdry. Also, try to get it as straight as possible w/ the blowdryer, that way it takes less work w/ the iron. You can also spray a protective spray before ironing it that is made to prevent damage and promotes shine.

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

Chi is the most popular for preserving hair :)

Which are the best straighteners for your hair?

CERAMIC HAIR IRONS ARE BEST!!! ....i cant say that enough to ppl:-)....THEY ARE AMAZING AND MAKE UR HAIR LOOK HEALTHIER THAN BEFORE I CANNOT BELIEVE IT ...i wouldnt be alive without mine!! lol..they are a little expensive but soo worth it i promise!! ...dont waste ur money on all those cheap irons from cvs and walmart....ceramic hair irons work on ANY TYPE OF HAIR..I HAVE THE THICKEST HAIR ON THIS PLANET ..for reall..and they results are amazing...it just bothers me that ppl dont believe me when i give them advice to buy a ceramic hair iron because they have already tried so many and they give up and strat saying the problem is with their hair!...u can probly order one from a salon or get it from sallys beauty supply :-)

hope i helped...plz take my advicee lol %26lt;3

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

I have a wet to straight, and i use it every other day on 20 (the highest setting is 30). I haven't really noticed any difference from a regular straightener, but my friends (none of them are professional hairdressers, btw) all say that steaming your hair is extremely unhealthy for it. I thought that because the heat is only in direct contact with the water, not your hair, that it's actually more healthy than blowdrying then straightening it dry, but I could be wrong. It wouldnt be the first time. So am I ruining my hair?

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

Yes, u are. be very careful with them. you should never ever use a wet to dry straigthner, because all you are doing is burnng your hair and drying it out. You will be doing damage to it no matter how you straighten it, but the best way to keep it healthy is to use a good brand ceramic tiled straightner, it will cost you a fortune, but it will last you a lifetime and it will do the best job for your hair.

ALWAYS use a heat protector, apply this when the hair is damp, it will put a protective coating over it. then always dry your hair off before you straighten.

Make sure that you always section your hair off when u do it, because if you keep going over the same parts, you will burn it and dry it out.

Tips: For flyaways sfter its done, apply some hairspray to a flat folded tissue and just run it down your hair. this will straighten it out without the flyaways and not look greasy or clumpy.

when you straighten it always do it with a comb, so it is even and you dont go over the same parts. By just grabbing it randomly you will do damage and make it look clumpy.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

I'm guessing yes, for sure!, it can't be good for it!.. but i dont know, im a short haired male!!

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

If you are going to do it make sure to use a serum and not do it every day :) Conditioner too!

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

Yea it is realy bad for your hair it will fall out.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

so bad for your hair... a hairdresser did tell me this ... so stop! wait for your hair to dry!

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

idk

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

Yes, it weakens the hair, and steams it, almost ruining it. Blowdrying first is a lot better.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

try to have your hair damp, not wet because it may actually damage your hair if it's real wet!

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

um it is worse 4 ur hair it is really internally frying i had a wet to dry straightner, then i swiches to a blowdryer and a reg straightner and it makes my hair shinier u should swich

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

as with any straigtener, it will cause damage to your hair and maybe even breakage but nothing a little deep conditioner can't fix.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

i have the same thing, and i love it, but i do a bit of blow drying a bit, just because when the steam burns my skin ...it kinda hurts, besides you wash in hot water, do hot oil treatments, so i don't think it could be all that bad, but I'm not a hair dresser either, you could call a salon and ask...

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

ive heard that wet to straight straighteners are very bad for your hair so i haven't had the guts to try it. i use Revlon Stylix it works great for me and very little damage. if you haven't noticed a difference it is probably fine for your hair. Different peoples hair acts differently to different straighteners.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

i HAVE THE SAME STRAIGHTNER.

i DON'T THINK IT DAMAGES YOUR HAIR..

i tHiNK iT'S PRETTy G00D BECAUSE iVE HAD iiT SiNCE LAST YEAR..

AND I STRAIGHTN MY HAIR LIKE EVERY DAY..

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

i used the remington wet to straight iron on my hair everyday altho i make sure that i used a good conditioner or a creme styler so it keeps the moisture in and doesnt wreak havoc on my hair. my hairs wicked soft and really healthy.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

My mom went to beauty school and she said that any heat on your hair can be harmful. But the steam you see coming from the wet to straight is evapration from it drying. If you dye your hair alot and or have a lot of chemical damage She wouldnt reccomend that you use it.But other than that its fine.Your not going to ruin your hair with that straightner.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

gal any hair equipment can be danger to ur hair only if u dont use hair protector like conditioners

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

all heat ruins your hair. but the best straightner for your hair is a ceramic one. they are expensive, but they work better. and reduce frizzys. get one that has infa-red on it to. that is like a blow dryer. so you can dry your hair with it. and it wont hurt is as bad. ANY metal straightner will ruin your hair.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

YES they are bad for you hair.

I would definitely recommend you blow dry then straighten.

The steam is breaking down you hair, and making it unhealthy.

I have the wet to dry, and the first day i used it my hair felt different.

Also, I've found that blow drying and then straightening is actually faster then using the wet to dry.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

I have hard to straighten hair, and I use a wet to dry iron often. I did invest in a good quality flat iron, as the inexpensive did not do the job. I asked my hair dresser about it and she told be that as long as I use the lowest setting that works (and it sounds like you do) it will do no more damage than a regular flat iron. No heating tools are *good* for your hair, so if you are using them make sure that you get regular trims to deal with split ends, and use a good conditioning treatment.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

Yea ur wrong.

It's REALLY bad for your hair.

Especially if u hear spark noises.

I wouldn't reccomend it.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

I do this too, but I use a good product for use in heat styling. It's from Nexxus and it's in a spray bottle. (I'd go check but I'm not at home) So far, I haven't had a problem, but this is something I'd like to hear more about myself. My hair is already damaged, but it hasn't gotten worse.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

yea seriously badly

get a new straightner

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

yes it is b/c it can burn ur hair and it will make it fall out of ur head:D lission 2 ur friends %26amp; stop using it.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

i do hair. and yeah. its not good to straighten ur hair while wet/damp. if u hear a sizzling/popping sound when ur straightening ur hair, its burning it! ALWAYS blow dry ur hair first, then run a straightener through it. that product only sells bcoz it will sell better if its more convienent for the consumer. (cut styling time in half by not having to blow dry) the faster way isnt always the better way, espeacially in straightening hair!

GOOD LUCK

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

its not good for your hair, but if you use serum its really not much worst than a regular flat iron.

Are wet-to-straight straighteners bad for your hair?

it is so bad for your hair

it dries up all the moisture from your hair.

i recommend letting it dry naturally and then straightening it

make sure you use a heat protecting serum

Straightener!? Help?!?

I always use a straightener like every single day... I want to get rid of it... Coz my hair is now wavy If I didnt use the straightener... My hair used to be so straight now my hair is weird...

My mom said my hair will get dry if I keep using it evry single day and she said im only 15 and that my hair shudnt be always get straighten.....

heres my question!

Can anybody help me......

What kind of stuff should i use for my hair without using a straightener?

Thanks Y璋﹍l....

Straightener!? Help?!?

She is right-lay off the heat. Fantasia makes a straightening product that works without heat. It comes in a small blue bottle but it is clear and great! Lite products are best-tcb has a lite conditioning oil comes in a small round container and is with their grease, it is also translucent and is good for pulling hair back into a ponytail and requires no heat. Summit Liv is a bit heavier and does the same thing but you only need a small amount eveyr other day. Another great product is the african pride oil spray and it smells like a rainbow.

i hope this helps-email if you have questions

Straightener!? Help?!?

u could get a product to enhance the waves

Straightener!? Help?!?

Going through the same ordeal now myself.....really I have found there is nothing you can do besides scrunching your hair I straightened my hair everyday and it is dry, brittle, and damaged....GOOD LUCK!

Straightener!? Help?!?

well if its just slight wave, then using a product like sunsilk or herbal essences that is specifyd for straightning hair will help. you can also straighten your hair, and not wash it for a day or two, it sounds gross but if your hair doesn't get extremely greasy, then no one would really know. and there are products that specialize in working with the heat to keep your hair from getting so damaged. or, you could just keep your hair wavy of course.

good luck !

((i have SUPER curly hair, and like you, if i straighten my hair too much it gets very damamged : \ ))

Straightener!? Help?!?

Oh I think you should just use a hair straightener thats like 100% ceramic so It won't damage your hair! it dont damage it all nd it stays fer the whole entire day without hairspray thtaas what my hairdresser told meh

Straightener!? Help?!?

either you can get it professionally straghtened to have it straight every day or you can let it got curly.

If you choose to you go the later route use an anti-friz gel in it to get defined curl rather than out of control.

If you want to use a flat iron everyday still get a product. Redkin heat glide works very well to prevent damage and help smooth the hair.

Dont use a cheap walmart brand straightner. Spend the money to buy a cricket or chi (ebay sells them cheap).

alternate. straighten (with good product) one day and let it curl the next.

also, buy good conditioners to restore moisture.

Please help - My hair is frizzy and wavy, but I really want lush, smooth, straight, soft, silky hair

You know the kind I'm talking about. The super-smooth, super-shiny, super-lush, super-silky amazing looking hair. The kind you can run your fingers through and it falls right back into place, perfectly.

Here's the thing: I want it without straightening my hair using a blow drier/straightener. I'm strictly, strictly against it because it ruins your hair and also takes long. Please don't try to influence me to straighten my hair. My opinion won't change no matter what argument someone puts forth.

Please, please, please, please tell me what to do to my hair to get it this way!!!

Please help - My hair is frizzy and wavy, but I really want lush, smooth, straight, soft, silky hair?

OMG! Just use a straightener. Blow drying after the shower is cake and when you do that straightening doesn't take but 3 minutes tops! And i have long hair! Buy products that are made for people who use heat sources on their hair. It helps control damage and reduce split ends. As far as not wanting to use those fine but the only other thing I can think of is chemical straightening which is worse then just using a straightener..hello! Key word CHEMICAL! Buy frizz control shampoo and conditioner as well for whatever option you decide to go with. Good Luck!

Girls with pin straight hair want curly hair, girls with curly hair want straight hair. Just work what youv'e got and be happy. Sorry I failed to answer the question but straightening is really the only way...

Please help - My hair is frizzy and wavy, but I really want lush, smooth, straight, soft, silky hair?

i think there are hair relaxers to ease out the waves, my friend would used them and she has curly hair. but i dont have curly hair so i dont know. =x

but for the frizz alone, you should apply in some frizz-ease. it'll automatically make your hair shinier and more lush. also less tangly.

other than that.. there's no other way that i know to make hair straight-straight without using an straightening iron.

however.. nowadays there's a 'ceramic' straightening iron that doesn't damage hair at all. its made up of this protected metal that even when touched against a balloon the balloon doesn't pop. maybe that will interest you?

Please help - My hair is frizzy and wavy, but I really want lush, smooth, straight, soft, silky hair?

i just got this new bumble %26amp; bumble "defrizz" and you just put a dollop in your hands then rub it through your hair. you dont have to blowdry your hair or anything.

it wont make your hair perfectly straight, but it will make it not frizzy, and softer, which is always good.

it reallyy works to make your hair not as frizzy.

if you want to see it go to www.bumbleandbumble.com %26gt; products %26gt; styling %26gt; silicones %26gt; defrizz

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

What is a good straightener that is inexpensive.

I know CHI is good but it's wayyy to expenisve.

also, are the gold plates better than the silver ones?

and is ceramic coating just as good as ceramic plates?

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

try the conair Gold it is about $50 but i dont know were to get one........Sorry!!

Good Luck!!

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

Well it depends on what you mean by expensice Sally Hanson has some really nice ones that I have for $40 and it works really nicely..also idk the difference between the plates but the gold ones always seem to work better for me.

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

Go to a beauty Supply store and ask them if they could help you. Gold and Silver plates are the same. You want a ceramic/ionic straightner. And always use a straightner protector.

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

Well, I'm no professional stylist but I can let you know that Duane Reade actually sells flat irons that only cost like $30 for like a Conair brand and I bought one with 30 heat settings that is a ceramic heat iron and works really well with any type of hair. Also, to go w/that there is a great line of John Frieda hair products that are good for straightening hair with flat irons and blow dryers. Check them out! My favorite product is the frizz ease blow dry cream.

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

plates make a small difference try the chi one if you can save up 100 dollars

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

No they aren't. If you buy a cheap one, you are throwing your money away. You should save up for a good ceramic iron, you will be glad you did.

Question about straighteners? Hair stylists please help?

i have a really good wet-2-straight one its really nice and didnt cost that much im not sure the brand thoe SORRY!

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

Yes

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

i think it's okay if you are planning for a few years.

but my friends were telling me that while they were pregnant, the doctor said that they are not allowed to do anything while the baby is in them, and while they are breast feeding. because the chemicals get absorbed through your skin, and even though you may be able to handle it, you're probably a full grown adult. and a developing baby will not be able to be healthy with all these foreign chemicals.

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

yes.

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

Yes, If it's in a few years. If your planning to have a baby in a few years then you might want to make sure your body is fit for the birth.

Have lots of iron

You should start working on this about a year before your ready and during the pregnancy makes a much easier birth.

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

Yes. Just check with your Doctor about doing that while pregnant.

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

if it wasn't there would be a warning and i don't beleive there is unless you are already pregnant, i think your safe.

I am planning to have baby in a few years. Is it safe to have chemical hair straighteners now?

Yes. Just keep in mind when you are trying or when you do become pregnant you can no longer use chemicals to straighten your hair, which means your roots will be curly and the ends straight until you are done breast feeding...might look kinda odd.

LADIES (or men if you use them) - Can you tell me which are the best hair straighteners apart from G

are the best. I live in London and would prefer not to buy from abroad. Ta v. much !!!!

LADIES (or men if you use them) - Can you tell me which are the best hair straighteners apart from GHD'S?

I personally use the Maxi Glide, however, I am not sure if the plug would be compatible to the outlets that you use in England. Good Luck, because I know the round brush, and a blowdryer doesn't always work. I also use Bumble and Bumble straight (its a type of gel) that works really well.

Chi is great a little expensive but it's worth it!!

LADIES (or men if you use them) - Can you tell me which are the best hair straighteners apart from GHD'S?

Just make sure it is "ceramic" - it will heat up better and do a better job.

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

Hi there=). So my hair is really curly, and everyone tells me i should keep it the way it is because they like it but i really hate it! i cant do anything but tie it up!..So i was just wondering if you knew what straightener and products such as GHD would make my hair nice and straight. OR if i should go get my hair PERMANENTLY straightened. What do you think? please help me make my hair nice. Thankyou=)

Oh ! and i also wouldnt mind having loose curls, so if you know how i can get my hair that way, it would really help too! thanks

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

GHD. Remember when you chemically straighten your hair your regrowth is curly and you have to wait a couple of months before re- straightening your hair plus it is extremley harsh on your hair.

Get a GHD, then you have all the options, straight or curls.

If you want loose curls straight you hair first, then as you clamp the GHD on you hair twist the straightner 360 till you get to end, is you want them really loose start half way down the length of you hair, but remember they usually drop.

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

Ghds and G4 hair straightners are the best i reccommend using a thermal protecting creme such as loreal tec or ghd iron oil when staightening

permanatly straighteneing is a good idea as you dont have to take time to straighten it all the time and also gives a dead straight look. on hair that is damaged or had alot of colour in it its not really reccomended. you can also use a ghd to create loose curls as well.

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

check out the link it tells you all about ghd styler's perfect for you i would say, i have them and my hair is straight so i can curl it or style it differently other than straight. x

Hair straight?

anyone got any tips on keeping your hair straight without using a straightener??and dont even suggest straighteners cos its not going to happen!!any special way to dry my hair and any serums/gels that will keep it straight all day if i put them on in the morning??

Hair straight?

Bed Head makes some straightening spray - get some of that then use it to blow dry your hair. That will help keep it straight all day.

Hair straight?

avon do one that is cheap and works well

Hair straight?

It depends on how curly your hair is. If you have little curl or wave, when you get out of the shower dry your hair a little and the brush it. then put it in a pony tail until morning. this makes your hair stay straight and down so it's more tamer. Hope this might work.

Hair straight?

i use frizz-ease straightening creme, you simply put it on when your hair is ddamp and then blow ry it straight, it stays for ages and theres no static or frizz, or if you want it to be straight all the time and you have some spare money, why not chemically straighten your hair at a hairdressers?

Hair straight?

You could blow dry your hair straight, using a barrell brush (I think they're called) and just running it down your hair with the hair dryer above it. It's better for your hair than straightners. Also, most serums rely on that kind of drying.

Hair straight?

my coz pules her hair down with a brush and then blow dries it down Word it keeps the hair pretty straight

Hair straight?

Are you open to using a blow dryer? Aim it (on its highest setting) down from the top of the crown after putting a straightening balm (I use Victoria's Secret So Sexy Straightening gel) on it. Never flip your hair to blow it out, it'll only make it poufy! Move it around the top of your crown and brush your hair as you do so with a wide, flat brush meant to be used with a blow dryer.. I got mine at Walmart, you don't have to spend a lot to get a decent brush. Works for me! !

Hair straight?

You didn't mention how curly your hair is naturally. There is nothing where you can put something in your hair in the morning and your hair will just be straight. You will have to sweat a little.

Take a hair dryer and a round metal brush and use Frizz-Ease wind down relaxing cream. Work the cream into your hair while it is still fairly wet, and don't be afraid to mix a little of a light gel into the concoction. Don't bother brushing your hair straight until you've dried it about 75% of the way. Then. pull your hair down hard with the round metal brush and slowly while concentrating the dryer on it. You will have to do sections at a time until your hair is completely dry.

This is hard for beginners unless you have naturally flat hair. Ask for the stylist to do it for you and give you tips next time you get your hair cut, but you still might not be able to do it. If you don't want to use a straightener, you may not be able to achieve straight hair, but good luck with the blow drying technique!

Bottom line: changing your hair's natural texture takes work no matter what, there is no "quick fix" unless you actually want to get a permanent relaxer, which I would't recommend except for those with extremely tight curls.

Hair straight?

blow drying ur hair is the best option if u want it straight without ironing or using straighteners---or else u can go in for permanent straigtening but its pricey---and i wudnt recommened tht--

besides curly hair is or wavy hair is the in thing now---so dont go around spoiling with chemicals and hair sprays or gels---

use a good shampoo with good conditioner followed by good serum all that suits ur hair type---

after washing immediately or when its semi dry brush thru hair with a wide tooth comb and using a hairbrush start blow drying ur hair pullin a bunch of hair against urself, holding ur hair straight with the brush now blow ur hair and the result is straight hair tht looks natural--not like straighters look--

i suggest u blow dry once and later apply serum and blow dry again--so tht u will get natural shine to ur hair--this is the best idea i can give u---so i hope it is helpful

take care

Hair straight?

Hi im sorry to dissapoint you but there is no way to get you hair as smooth and straight with out using hair straightners, Believe me Ive tried everything. and if I dont use hair straighters and try and get it straight myself all I end up is having so many products on my hair that looks horrile. And no amount of blow drying it straight helps if your hair is frizzy as well as not straight,. I once got a leave in smoothing balm with straightening effect and this was ok but you dont get the glossy shine you get with using a hair straightener.

You could try a straightening brush, its a brush like a tonge and brissel brushes that you use to pull your ends straight whilst you blow dry your hair. This works but take alot of time and you may need to get someone to do it for you.

There is nothing in this world you can just put on in the morning to keep it straight all day if it was this easy noone would rely so much on their hair straightners and the wouldnt be so popular. So you best bet is to get a hair striaghtener and do it this way. I recommend usinf INFRATREAT heat protection spray and I have just bought some shockwaves TAME IT, mousse which gets rid of frizz and also has heat protection in it. I used it the first time to day and I found it to be brill.

So unless you want straight hair that you can put on in the morning it will have to be done with the hair straighteners Im afraid I dont care weather its going to happen or not, but its the only way, to get glossy smooth sliky locks.

Hair straight?

use your brush and a hair dryer and when your hair is wet use the hair dryer 2 dry your hair and use the brush and always brushing down and it wil make your hair straight but i have to tell you it will not make your hair dead staright it ill make it stratight though ok hope you liked my advice :D xxx

Hair straight?

Try using frizz-ease wind-down relaxing creme extra strength when you blowdry your hair. When you go to sleep don't put your hair up in a ponytail because you will get a kink in it in the morning instead leave it down.

I left a mark on the top of my TV with hair straighteners, and I need to know if anything will remov

That's never a good thing!

You didn't say what type of mark you left but I suspect, given that it was hair straighteners that made it, that it is indeed burn marks as others have suggested. If this is the case, I'd suggest that your TV is unfortunately marked permanently. If so, the only thing I can suggest is something small and decorative to cover the mark - perhaps a photo in a frame, or something ceramic...

Good luck!

I left a mark on the top of my TV with hair straighteners, and I need to know if anything will remove it :-(?

a new tv

I left a mark on the top of my TV with hair straighteners, and I need to know if anything will remove it :-(?

OOps no it's probably burned into the plastic. I did this loads on my dressing table, finally invested in some with a holder! Get an ornament and cover it over.

Do straighteners harm your hair after a while?

Yes. You're hair can grow dry, brittle and thin out. You may also experience texture changes meaning that if you should ever want to one day sport your natural texture (which is oh so healthy for your hair!), you may find that you can never regain your natural texture.
