Me again! Is it reasonable to expect to use your hair straighteners for at least 10 mins a day?

And for them STILL to work even after a month?? Unless I am forgetting to switch them off before I leave for work but usually I am good at checking. I am completely baffled as to why I have gotton through 3 straighteners since last Nov !!

No, I straighten my hair everyday for at least 5-10 minutes and I've had mine for at least 6 months now. My sister has had her's for at least a year now and it still works great. Her's is a Revlon. I can't think what brand mine is at the moment....Conair maybe. I also use mine everyday at the highest setting and it still works fine. What brand do you buy?

Unless you have a professional iron no it must be turned off.

Put it on a timer so it won't overheat.

I dont think you should go thru that many, i use my straightener every 2 days for like a 1/2 hour then every morning to fix it up for 10 mins at most, and my straightener has been going good %26amp; working for the last year! maybe it is the type of straightener your are buying? i got my for $50 at walmart %26amp; it works perfect %26amp; even if it does burn out it has a lifetime warranty

i would say splurge and get a really good one that way if you leave it on it will not over heat then all you have to worry about is your house burning down

if you have frizzy hair you don't need to staighten it so frequently because you can burn your hair.

Wow! I have my straightener plugged in for maybe 15 minutes every day, and I've had it since the beginning of the June 06!

Mine isn't expensive either, I got it from Target, but it works well.

Maybe you have super strong electrical currents!

Try using a different plug, possibly?

yeah. i have had mine for almost 2 years and I never turn it off. try Revlon brand. it works really well. they are about 17 dollars at Target, and THEY LAST!
