Do you have any tips on straightening hair?

*Don't use a lot of product, or it will make your hair greesy.

*shower the night before, let it air dry some, then blow dry the rest. Strighten it too. It will flatten out by sleeping on it. Give it a quick straighten up in the morning.

*Use products for frizz that won't weight hair down. (Garnier Fructis is great!)

*Try this on a weekend day to see if it works for you, you don't want to be stuck with horrible hair during the week!

Happy Hair Days!

uhm...well to have your hair really straight you have to take time on it...the night before wash it put a lot of conditioner and dont wash it all off...then let you hair dry naturaly...when its completely dry put it in two sections...the straightn by smaller sections until youre done...

Back in the old days (pre 1970) the long straight hair was in style. We used to do one of 2 things.

1. Roll our hair in hair rollers made from orange juice cans. I had a problem with this because my hair was so thick. I ran out of room on my head for these huge rollers before I had all my hair rolled. Plus you had to wear them for hours until your hair dried. But it does work.

2. We would iron our hair on the ironing board. Yes, with a clothes iron. You have to be careful not to get the iron too hot though. That also worked great.

However, now-a-days that have products on the market specifically to straighten your hair. You could try these products yourself, or go to a salon and have it straightened.

either get it permanantly staaightened or follow this:

first, put a relaxing spray of some sort in your hair. Then, seperate your hair into three seprate layers. Top, Medium, and Bottom. Then, start to straighten. first the bottom, then the middle, then the top. (Be sure that when you are straightening one section that the others are securley pulled back, not in the way) After you straighten all og your hair, lightly comb it. It should turn out beautifully! Hope this helps!

Well the main thing is NOT to dry it out because all that will do is make it worse. So try not to blow dry it that much. When you get out of the shower, opt for a old T-shirt to dry your hair instead of regular terry cloth towels becasue i read somewere that that makes frizzies worse. And dont rubb your hair to dry it with a towel just pat it. Other than that i dont know what to tell you. But good luck

my teacher had extra curly hair and i asked her if she would straighten it one time. then next week she got a japanese straightening which was pretty expensive, but it looked really good on her.
