Actually, for a longer lasting solution to get straight hair, you could try a straight perm. Its similar to a regular perm for body or curls, except it is combed through the hair. Walgreen sells straight perm kits for about $30. I've done this once and I loved the results. Salons also offer this service.

u can go to a salon and get ur hair relaxed/chemically straightened.. it lasts longer !!!!
