I am going to new york in march and i dont think i could possibly live without my straighteners! But im just wondering can i use the, in america? because dont they have different plug sockets over there, like 2 pin when in england its three pin?

ditto to what darkidr said, or you could buy a converter in the UK that will allow you to use the straighteners in America. Tip: make sure it is a converter, one of my friends here in America just picked up an adapter(they look about the same) when we went to England the rest of Europe and plugged it in and ended up frying her hair with a hair straightener because it just adapted the plug, and didn't change the voltage.

You certainly can. In America, all over the country there are stores here called "Radio Shack." In them they have power adapters for every kind of plug in the country. Just pick one up, and you're good to go....

Not only are the receptacles different the voltage is different. here in the U.S. we use 110 volts as standard where you use 220 volts.Converters assist in allowing you to connect but do nothing for the voltage difference.You will need to call a travel agent and ask what they suggest
