Yes.. another question about the damage heat causes to hair :D?

My first question is if you protect your hair enough then straightening your hair almost everyday wont damage it to the degree that it'll fall out easily right? I mean, i don't care if my hair isn't in superb condition becasue it never has been, but i absolutly love the style i have with straight hair and don't want to stop it. But i'm also scared of my hair getting in the condition someone i knows is (they just pulled at it and a chunk came out).

So to sum it up my question is if you protect your hair enough, will it stay at a semi-healthy condition?

Also how important are these thermal products that protect your hair? Would it be possible to get away with just conditioning your hair alot and using straighteners not at full temperature? Or are these products that protect hair from straighteners a requirement if you want to keep your hair from reaching an awful quality?

Okay sooo....

Keep your straightener at a very low heat. In fact, the lowest it can get while still straightening your hair.

I have a cheap straightener but it stays at a low enough heat that i dont have to worry about frying my hair.

Conditioning your hair will not help to keep your hair healthy

it just prevents frizz. I would suggest diluting your shampoo and conditioner by mixing in water so that its not so harmful because technically you are only supposed to washa and condition every other day.

Good luck

Hope I helped!;)

I use therasilk, they really work. ALso, just remember to use conditioner every time you wash your hair, I hope everything works out for you.

If you use hot irons everyday make sure you use a good conditioner. At night run some Biolage condition balm threw you hair and wrap it up in a towel or plastic wrap. Shampoo and style in the morning. You can get the product in most salons.

Honestly, I straighten my hair every other day with a CHI- which is a professional flat iron (which gets REALLY REALLY HOT) and I was told by my stylist that you should use some kind of thermal product or serum while your hair is 75% - 80% dry to avoid overheating it, especially in my case since I have blond hi-lites. Some of these products are hardly that expensive and you need to use very little (depending on your hair length and type) or your hair will look oily. Some products I enjoy: Avon Straightening Balm or Fructis Sleek and Shine or Bio Silk (most expensive) but large bottle will last like forever. Good Luck with your choice.

I don't know, I think it might just be the hair type and condition that I have, but even if I use a thermal protector and whatnot, my hair still does get lot of damage from using a flat iron. I know a lot of people who can straighten their hair every day without product and never get a split end and their hair won't thin, and I know others who basically have no hair because of their flat iron addiction. I use top of the line, strictly salon quality shampoo and conditioner, I've tried every product from Pink Lotion to Biosilk and back, but I've given up and just accepted the fact that my hair is just not cooperative with flat irons! So just try out different products I guess, and see if anything works for you. Good luck!
