Help straightening hair?

My hair is really poofy and wavy. When I got it done at Toni %26amp; Guy, they straightened and it was A LOT less heavy. However when I straighten my own hair, it just makes it straight but there's still a lot of volume.

I bought the heat-protectant spray that used while straightening my hair, but it didn't make any difference and it was still poofy. So I don't know how they straightened it so well. Was it the straightener? I don't know what brand it was, but I know it was silver and kinda clamped down on your hair.

Help!!! And also, what straightener would work best for my hair, and does anyone know what type of straightener they used?

I have the same type of hair and i start by putting on an anti-frizz heat protector like Biosilk, then blow drying my hair as straight as I can get it with a flat brush. Blow drying it makes it easier for me to straighten.I section it and use a CHI flat iron after wards and my hair comes out really silky and smooth with no frizz. And then I finish with a bit of hairspray to keep it from pouffing.

I'm not sure what flat iron he used but good ones are the Sedu. Solia, and CHIs are pretty good as well. Something with a larger ceramic plate proabbly 1-1/2' would work well on your hair

its your straighner problem, i would go for Chi Ceramic Straightner, they are a little expensive but they are really good

Good luck

You want a straightner with the ceramic plates and my vidal sasoon one works well it needs to get HOT, and you also need to add like Frizz eaze or something like that when its wet the straightn spray does the same thing to my hair when that is all I use....

Good Luck

OMG if it's wavy straight you really don't need to do it. I used to know these threee girls and they had beautiful hair ones hair was kind of wavy and poofy though and she wantes straighter hair like her sisters.....so she started pressing it and her hair got soooooooo messed up so you can try using lustrasilk and then press your hair it looks like you got a professional relaxer afterwards........ well if you have too much body then what you can do it wash your hair at night and put in some extra conditioner (about the size of a pea, then distribute it through your wet hair and dont wash out) and sleep with your wet hair up in a bun.,in the morning your hair just comb your hair then blowdry it, it will feel a little heavy but it wont poof when you straighten it.

and i really good straightener is a Remington Wet 2 Straight. but i really never recommend straightening your hair when wet. but this is a really really good straightener.

Your best bet is a CHI straightener. I am looking into getting one myself after reading reviews. I would also suggest using a straightening product - I think Got 2 B makes one.

you should go back to your hair salon and have them straighten your hair again, and watch how they do it... you should also ask what kind of straightener they use.

that's your best bet!

good luck! :]
