Ebay - Fake GHD Hair straigteners.?

I have no idea what to do. Basically, i purchased a pair of hair straighteners through ebay in sept last year. At first i had no problems so i gave positive feedback. A few months ago i started having probs and after trouble with registration etc, i have since found out that they are fake!

The ebay user is no longer a registered user and the deadline has passed to open a dispute. Also, i stupidly transferred money straight to their account and not through paypal. (Yes, i know, i will not do that again).

On the users profile, the option to contact them was still there so i have sent an email telling them i know their goods are counterfeit and that i want a refund but i dont hold up much hope.

Anyone else had this - what did you do? I guess ive learned the hard way here!

You should still contact ebay and request their help in providing contact details of the seller.

Ebay - Fake GHD Hair straigteners.?

I was going to buy my wife new GHD Hair straigteners from ebay however i noticed that if you go into the bidding activity for nearly all of them advertised the bidders are all new peeps with under 10 buys.

This says to me it is tho seller who has created different accounts and is bidding up there own selling item.

Little help now however i would not buy this item from ebay just try having a look and you will see what i mean simply click on the bids for each item often you will see the same bidders on each one..

GHD Hair straigteners on ebay ......dont touch with a barge pole.

There is nothing you can do at this late date other than filing in small claims court. Any disputes thru ebay must be opened between 10 and 60 days following the sale date. I highly doubt they will make exceptions.

In case you haven't heard new policies are going into effect today which you might want to check out before using ebay. Buyers and sellers are boycotting and searching out alternative sites.

See the video that explains it all

I bought some fake GHDs on ebay too but I realised they were fake straight away and got a refund. There is a page somewhere on ebay to request the sellers information I think it just gives you their name and phone number but I'm not sure if it will work if they are NARU but worth a try anyway. The information might be enough to find out their address maybe through the electoral roll. All you need to fill in the small claims court forms is the persons name and address. I would definatley have gone down this route had my seller not given me a refund. If you find out the persons information you should also report them to trading standards.

Unfortunately this is a common problem on ebay with GHD. Ebay selling are buying copies from traders in Korea and China for peanuts and passsing them of as real.

Our salon recieved a letter from GHD comfirming this. paraphrased below

I have recently recieved a letter from GHD's head office. Informing us there are a small number of counterfeit GHD IV Stylers and GHD Hot Pink Stylers are appearing in the market place, illegally bearing the GHD trademark.

These counterfeiters have produced packaging and stylers which is viuslly similar to a genuine GHD product. However, on closer inspection these fake products are subtantially inferior in terms of their construction and performance, developing faults within weeks of first use.

Genuine GHD Straighteners are carefully designed, manufactureed and tested to the highest level of quality and sefety. Tests carried out on these fake GHD straighteners indicate that their use may lead to considerablr risk of injury and breach minimum electrical safety standards.

To ensure that you are receiving genuine GHD stylers, you should only purchase from a GHD authorised resource. Additionally the 2 year manufacturers warranty will only apply to genuine GHD products.

A genuine GHD straighteners costs a salon 鎷?5.58 + VAT = 鎷?8.80 to buy in.

So these great deals you sometime see on Ebay are likely to be too good to be true as they would working for peanuts with there seller fees and ad postage costs.
