Help with glued in hair extensions!!- how to get them out properly?

i got glued in heir extensions recently-in mexico and now i want to take them out because they are a pain in the neck when straightening and for other reasons. I have already taken on out with the straightener but it left a clum of glue in my hair and glue on my straightener. my straightener is and $80 ceramic one and is there anyway to get the glue of completely with scratching at the surface of the straightener. Are there any products i can use to help get the glue out of my hair?

you're not taking them out right. You need to lather your hair with conditioner and leave it in for awhile, then rinse it out. this will loosen the extensions and then you have to pull them out as gently as possible. then there will be a ton of glue left in your hair... the easiest way to get it out is by leaving conditioner in your hair again and then you have to use a small comb... (it cant have much space between the combs "picks")... and go through your hair and the clumps of glue will come out with it. It's important that you get the right kind of comb or else it wont work.

I have done glue in extensions many times and this works everytime for me. My friend did extensions and she was able to get them out but she had glue clumps in her hair for weeks (not kidding) because she didnt know how to get it out. I didnt know or else i would have given her advice on how to get it out.

Sally's also sells a couple products that aid in getting the extensions and glue out but they never worked for me. The first time I got these kind of extensions I had to actually go to my stylist to get the glue out because it wouldnt come out... thats how i learned about the comb. :)

use lighter fluid DO no go near heat or flames while doing so. The fluid will break down the glue in about 30-45 minutes. If you need to go a second round go for it. Try to keep the lighter fluid off your scalp as it could irritate your scalp, and use gloves when applying too.

About your straightener i don't know, but I recommend you go to a salon that are specialists in extensions and have them remove yours.
